The Year of the Dragon

I was born in the Chinese year of the dragon, so I was excited to celebrate a "milestone birthday" of sorts, my dragon birthday!  Of course, I believe in absolutely none of this, but while researching on some of the history and cultural background on the zodiac, I have found out certain things.  Like...

The dragon year is the most popular year to have babies (yeah!)
Some dragon traits: "Magnanimous, stately, vigorous, strong, self-assured, proud, noble, direct, dignified, eccentric, intellectual, fiery, passionate, decisive, pioneering, artistic, generous, and loyal. Can be tactless, arrogant, imperious, tyrannical, demanding, intolerant, dogmatic, violent, impetuous, and brash." (thanks wikipedia! of course, these definitions change depending on your source...)
The dragon motto: "I conquer!"

I was particularly intrigued by the motto: "I conquer!"  This is probably because the emperors of China claimed the dragon as their special symbol, but it's significant for my life as well.  There are many areas that I'd like to conquer and have victory over, things like sin, bad habits of procrastination (and i write this post as i am procrastinating on a paper), messy rooms, and the like.

I wanted, for some reason, to make this year significant, special, and momentous.  After all, dragon birthdays only come every 12 years.  So here's to my dragon year, year of the conquering, one small step at a time!
