fulfillment at the appointed time
Last three days of devotions were about...dun dun dun...waiting! Although I'm slightly sad this seems to be the current overarching theme of my life, I'm also grateful that God is speaking directly to this restlessness I keep feeling...
"When [Zechariah's] time of service was complete, he returned home." ~Luke 1:23
"There is something to be said about Zechariah going home...There are seasons in our lives when we are asked to 'go home.' In other words, we are asked to go about our daily routines as we wait for God's work to unfold. It is during these moments that reflection and prayer help us to prepare for what is coming." ~Living Life Devotionals
"In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabrielto Nazareth, a town in Galilee, 27 to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary." ~Luke 1:26-27
"It is interesting how when we read the Bible, we tend to overlook phrases like, "And some time passed...," "And two years later...," and "After six months..." We think that things in the Bible happened a lot faster than the time that God has been asking us to wait, but everything has its timing." ~Living Life Devotionals
