Joys of reading the Word
I'm going to be teaching a workshop this weekend on how to read the books of the Bible in an effective and dynamic ways, and how they all weave together the story of God. This is actually a huge undertaking for me. As I'm painstakingly doing my research, I'm overwhelmed by just how massive and diverse the Bible books are! As of today at 12:22 pm, I still don't have a real concrete lesson plan set down (my deadline is tonight).
But...I've really discovered again and again how life-giving and sweet and joyful it is to be immersed in the Word. Really. It's like a whole well of the sweetest water you could ever taste of bubbling up and flowing. It's completion and satisfaction.
I think, above all, I want anyone and everyone to know the sublime delight of feasting from the words of the Almighty, to read it afresh every time they approach the Good Book, to have Joy-with-a-capital-J when they hear and receive the message of the Savior.
Be NOT still, my beating heart.
