Hear Me Roar!
Another reflection on my cultural background, or perhaps a subpoint to the last point:
My experience will not be the same as another Chinese American woman, or another Chinese American, or another woman, or any other person of any other ethnicity or race in this world.
I'm uniquely made this way. If I truly believe that the Father is all-powerful and sovereign, and that I am fearfully and wonderfully made, then I know that He purposely made me with this Chinese heritage, to navigate me through a bi-cultural world and life. It's not just that I'm better suited this way to live in a globalized, multi-cultural setting, to love those of other ethnicities. My third culture experience is unique, not identical to all other third culture experiences. I was born in the Motherland for a reason. I came to the States for a reason. This all means something. I'm excited to know how my being Chinese American fits into the grander calling on my life.
I have a voice as a Chinese American too! What I have to say, from my experience of Jesus' mercy and grace in my life, is of significance, because my cultural experience and heritage brings glory to the Father. We are all storytellers. I am Chinese American, and that is God's unique story for me. I need to tell of His salvation and His glory!
I am Chinese American, hear me roar!
