Yay for Birthdays!

Last week I had the privilege of throwing a joint party for some of my younger sisters (and some of my favorite people) on the occasion of their milestone birthday.
Privilege=I got the crazy idea, asked excitedly if I could throw the party, was rather persistent until I got the go-ahead. Yay!

The party was 80's theme (I pulled that idea out from NOwhere), which meant I was doing a lot of research weeks prior to the party. Although I was born in the 80s, it was quite late into the decade, so I pretty much missed out on it. Probably the most lasting images in my head was "Breakfast Club," Madonna, and the Berlin Wall coming down. I scoured wikipedia and websites dedicated to the 80s. I also picked up some tips (and LOTS of party material) from my dear dear friend Mrs. JK (she told me to just claim it as mine, but I must give credit where it's due)

I (and my partner in crime Ms. Tanner) showed up to the venue with literally a car full of materials. They thought we were crazy. You can see the pictures and decide for yourselves...

Mrs. JK had all these lovely baby's breaths, striped straws, glass jars, mustaches, wrapped boxes, beautiful table runners, and pink pompoms to share. I added a few more orange and green pompoms...Presto, our own version of a lovely "Pretty in Pink" party!

My finest masterpiece. The beautiful favor table. What fun is an 80s party without huge sunglasses, jelly bracelets, fundip, pop rocks, and nerds?

A party without food is a sad one...we filled the party people to the brim with goodies and sweeties! We also set apart one section for making scrapbooks for our lovely ladies...

We partied the night away, including a time of affirming our awesome friends with words of appreciations, and a silly pictures taken with our sunglasses and mustaches.

It was a blast to plan this party (I especially loved decorating). I would be lying, though, if I said I wasn't exhausted at the end of the night. This is probably why Father didn't put event planning as a passion in my heart. But He did put in the desire and joy of seeing my little sisters grow up to be beautiful and mature women of the Most High. I hope they enjoyed the party as much (and even more) than I did!
