Grad School Apps Part III
Part I
Part I.i
Part II
I had been blogging about my grad school application experience. Links above can take you to previous posts.
So, right before Christmas, I practically forced myself to finish the personal statement. I couldn't handle it, but I couldn't let it just sit there hanging over my head. I wanted to enjoy Disneyland and Christmas carols and presents freely, dognabbit! The day before I went to D-land with Carry-On, I typed up a really really rough draft, and sent it to my professor, who was so kind as to offer to read it over for me.
Except she never got the email. Because I never got a response.
Then after Christmas was Snapshot-crazy-time, so I didn't work on it either. Until the day after Snapshot, when it dawned on me that I needed to finish my application because it was due in one week.
I edited my super rough draft, never liked it, and sent it again to my professor, who finally got it this time, and returned it in record time (she's getting a really nice gift, oh dear professor o'mine). She even said it was "quite strong" (!) hooray for me.
...so, after three hours of slaving away at online submissions, GPAworksheets, resume editing...
I'm proud to say I have officially submitted my applications for MSW programs to dreamschool1 and bruinhome!! (except I have to mail the transcripts tomorrow)
Now I have to finish my application for dreamschool2. And possibly tag on a fourth application. Sigh.
