99c Store is My BFF
I really wanted to try my hand at planning and hosting a party, so I offered to throw a joint birthday party some friends of mine.
Of course, my budget these days is quite limited, so I couldn't afford to go crazy for this event. As always, my thrifty self turned to trusted old friend the 99c store.
Literally...everything for less than a dollar. It's astounding! And a whole section to party-planning to boot. My trip was successful: tissue paper for pom-pom making, tablecloths in all sizes and color, pack of chopsticks as a substitute for wood sticks from Michael's, glassware for pretty presentation. I also saw (and to restrain myself from buying): scrapbook material, candy for my themed party, even huge letter cutouts (but they didn't have the letters I needed, only the letter "y", which is pretty much the best letter EVER).
My wedding planning includes centerpieces featuring glass vases from my BFF 99c. It hardly ever fails me. It also encourages and facilitates lots of DIY projects. Awesomness.
I haven't been to the dollar store before, though, so I think I'll make a stop. It never hurts to have more friends. ;)
