Grad School Apps: Addendum

I finally received a decision from the fourth school I applied to. This was my "safe" school, the one I was hoping to fall back on in case nothing else worked out.

I got rejected.

Talk about irony! But because it came so late in the game (waaayy after I turned in my SIR), it didn't really affect me. Probably the first time rejection was not a big deal for me.

And as I reflected, the more confident and grateful I became in Him, because He taught me such a lesson, that the plans and "safety nets" of men are unreliable at best, and the things we think are "sure things" really turn out to be the opposite! If I had not put my trust in Him, if He did not have my life in His hands, who knows if I would've gotten into any school at all! As it is, I got the first acceptance from my dream school, and a rejection from my safe school. Crazy!

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9

Awesome.
