When you don't get to say good-bye...

…things like unspoken wishes and dreams and hopes for the person gush out.  Like this bad poetry for a client we didn't get to terminate with…

Where do the roads lead?  Who can know?
Who knows down what path one should start to go?
Some may lead to more treacherous ends,
Some may lead to only more puzzling questions.
Some may be smooth but lead to boring towns,
And some may be bumpy but lead to glittering gold crowns.
You're at the crossroads, and now you have to choose.
The thing about change is you get to decide how to begin anew:
How to start, where to go, and who should to get to go along
What you should take with you, and how to learn from past wrongs.
It may be difficult, and it can get scary
You don't know what's ahead, and things could get hairy.
Fear of the unknown is great and can test your will,
But to take the first step is far better than to only stand still.
So courage, dear heart, and soldier on!
Pick a path, and take control of how your life will evolve.
You have the skills, and though you've chosen not to use them thus far
This is a chance to choose wisely and shine your star.
You have the knowledge, the capability, the strength.
You've made it this far, and you can continue to go great lengths.
No matter what choice, no matter what lies ahead,
no matter how insurmountable the obstacles can get,
Know that you've got people who are cheering you on,
Who believe in your potential, believe and see past the yawns.
Choose wisely, choose well, choose to make something of yourself
Choose what can be best for you, and not just based on what you momentarily felt.
Yours is the future, yours is the possibility.
Go, choose a road, conquer the road, and succeed.
