MDTS: A Song for Mama Charity

For three days I sat on the front lawn of Mama Charity's "stand" (homestead), watching as my team built her a toilet, as loving sisters showed her the blueprints to the house they would build her in the new year.  This will be the first time she has her own home, the first time she and her five precious children can feel safe and secure in something that she owns.  I played with her kids, I went with her to the well, I spent time enjoying life with her...we were learning how to do family, how to love people truly and fully.

We were interceding over her house, and praying for words.  Out of that came this song.  I wrote it out and gave it to her...she went and read it two, three times.  She seemed to treasure the words.  But I so treasure the time I spent with her...what a beautiful daughter of the King!

May your home be a well-watered garden
All the trees and flowers bloom
where children dance and play with abandon
And men and women know their dreams can come true

May your home be filled with joy and laughter
Fear is gone, and you're free to love
May your family be knit in the heart of Christ
And you always have more than enough

Grow and grow, Grow and thrive
Gone are the days where you simply survive
Gloom is dispelled, see the light that arrives
The King comes to dwell in your home and give life

May your home be like the garden of old
All the fruits are good to eat
where God's heart and perfect will can unfold
Man and God walk together and freely meet

May your home be like the garden of heaven
See His footsteps in the cool of the shade
His Presence palpable, and overwhelming
You'll live with Him forever in His grace

Grow and grow, Grow and thrive
Gone are the days where you simply survive
Gloom is dispelled, see the light that arrives
The King comes to dwell in your home and give life
