Irony
...is when you dread and gripe about writing a paper about why it's important to write this paper.
This community assessment paper is the first real assignment I have in my graduate school education (I'm in grad school O_O). It's purpose is to get me to use theory to apply to an actual community I visited (Central City East, aka Skid Row). It's a really important paper--it will, at the very least, tell me if my writing is sufficient on a graduate school level!
I finally got myself to pound out a whole paragraph about why doing these kinds of papers and research is helpful in the realm of social work, but didn't realize how hypocritical it actually was because I really don't want to do this paper.
I can't tell if it's laziness, exhaustion, dislike of theory, or unyielding anticipation of actual real-life application that's making me dread this paper.
Maybe it's the fact that it's keeping me from going to a Lord of the Rings marathon at PF and Chlorine's place.
